Fun at Turtle Park before getting sick

Becca, Joe, and I went to Turtle Park and Darilicious on Thursday to hear Elijah Keller play drumset in his band. Becca loves saying Elijah's name and actually thinks any boy with glasses is Elijah. (We were in Walmart yesterday and she kept shouting lijah to this little boy). Anyway, one of the band parents was at Turtle Park and snapped a few pictures of Becca swinging on the swings. It was a great day and we got half price milkshakes as well. Unfortunately the next day Becca got sick with a high fever and has another ear infection and sore throat. This weekend hasn't really been very fun. She threw up on Joe and her fever hasn't really gone below 102. Hopefully she will feel better tomorrow. We just keep praying that the Lord will heal her little body!
Thanks to Terri who took the great pictures on Thursday!

Stickers

I took this picture because I thought it was funny. On Wednesdays while Joe and I play in the Montgomery County Civic Band Becca goes and plays with the Thompson family. She loves going over there, and especially likes their Sesame Street puppets. That night Rachel's finance John (who is also a former band student of Joe) decided to put lots of stickers on Becca's clothes. I think she loved all of the stickers. So much fun! :)

New Fence

Two weekends ago we, actually Steve-our neighbor, fenced in our backyard. Our house is on such a busy street that it was really tough for Becca to go outside and play. She runs so quickly now and I was scared I would turn my head and she would be in the street. We love our fenced in back yard. Steve did such a great job with the fence. It is a nice area for Becca to play in. We just need to get some outdoor toys for her. I can't believe the price of outdoor toys though! It seems like something made out of plastic wouldn't be so expensive. I have been looking at garage sales and on Craig's list so hopefully we will find some soon to fill our nice back yard! Now that the fence is up all we have left to do is re-stain the deck and stain the fence...the not so fun job!

Vist with Mamaw and Papaw

Last weekend we went to Columbus to visit Joe's parents. We had a lot of fun. It is always so good to see them. they couldn't believe how Becca had grown and how busy she is! I experience her business on a daily basis. She doesn't stop. As my mom said, "She plays hard, and then she crashes hard." Here are some fun pictures from the weekend!

Finger Painting Progress

Here is a video of our first finger painting experience. Becca just wouldn't get her hands dirty. She thought the colors were pretty, but no such luck with getting messy. At the end you can also see the famous nodding of the head that has started already. She definitely lets us know if she doesn't want to do something! :)

However, this past week we got the finger paints back out and she sat at her new little table and actually painted. She kept wanting me to put more paint on the paper and actually said more Blue. Yea for starting to learn our colors! :)

Oh no, there is paint on my finger!

Happy 11th Anniversary!

Even though school has been out for a week, I feel like things are just now winding down. We were pretty busy last week and even June still seems hectic. However, I have really enjoyed being able to spend more time with Becca. She is a lot of fun and so hilarious. She is starting to give kisses on her own as well as saying "Love you." So sweet!! I feel like she learns multiple new words every day. She said belly button the other day and she is starting to say people's names really clearly. The name we hear most often though is Elmo and Ernie. When I walk into her room in the morning instead of hearing "Mommy, Mommy." I hear "Elmo, Elmo, Elmo." She wants to watch her Elmo video first thing. She continues to sit in her new rocking chair transfixed to the TV watching Elmo. I think if it were up to her she would have Elmo videos on all day. However, we limit her to once or twice a day. (This helps our sanity as well....oh those Elmo songs are constantly in our heads).
Joe and I were able to go to Lafayette yesterday to celebrate our 11th Wedding Anniversary. We were singing Sesame Street songs all the way there. :) We had a great lunch at Red Lobster and then did some shopping. It was a lot of fun and nice to get away from Crawfordsville for a little bit. Joe and I haven't really gotten to spend much time together the past few months so it was nice to spend time with just us. Becca is constantly the topic of our conversation. We of course bought her some new toys. We found a great used toy shop in Romney. The prices are so much cheaper than buying them new. We also found an Elmo shirt that Becca loved. It was a great day!
Here are a few fun pics of Becca. I hopefully will be able to post a video of her finger painting very soon. Her sound effects and reaction were great!

Joe's Birthday Cake

On May 23rd we celebrated Joe's Birthday. Joe actually took around 82 middle schoolers to Kings Island on the 22nd so my wonderful neighbors, Steve and Catrina came over and helped me make his cake. Actually I asked them how to make a Coca-Cola cake since they are expert cake makers and they came over with all of their cool cake pans and icing and made an awesome cake. Joe loves Coca-Cola and drinks it all the time....a habit I'm trying to rid him of. :) Anyway...I wanted to have some type of themed cake. Here are the pictures of him enjoying his Coca-Cola cake. Poor guy was so exhausted from Kings Island that he didn't eat any of his cake until a few days later!
