So far so good....

Becca had a successful night last night in her new bed! She cried a few times, but never fully woke up.  I, however, didn't sleep well because I was worried about how she would do and if she would be safe!  Silly worries, I know.  Yea Becca for a good transition.  When she woke up she didn't climb out of bed....not sure if she has figured out that she can yet.  She just started saying, "Mommy, mommy" and was as  happy as she usually is. :)

Becca's new bed

Tonight is the night! It is Becca's first night of not sleeping in her crib and in a full size bed.  So far so good.  She didn't complain when I laid her down and fell right to sleep.  I think I'm the nervous one.  I keep worrying about her falling out of the bed or getting up in the middle of the night.  I also wonder what she will do in the morning.  I've read all the warnings about where to place the bed and how to make sure they are secure.  I think though sometimes these make me worry more!  Hopefully she has a good night's sleep and everything will go well!
She is used to her new bedroom because over the past month we have been getting her used to the idea that  this is going to be her new room.  All of her toys are in the new room and she is used to the idea of the big bed being in there. She loves to play in her new bedroom as well.   In some ways it makes me sad that she is growing up so fast.  She looks so tiny in this big bed.  I wanted to start the transition early though before our new little one arrives in April.  Once we have everything hung up, I will post pictures of her new room! It is really cute. :)

ABC Song with Piano

Becca has been "playing" the piano for awhile.  The other day however, she started playing and singing the ABC song.  It was so cute.  I didn't get the cutest part on video, but did get her to sing a little of it.  Here's a short video.  So cute! She goes around the house singing all of the time now.  Her song collection includes, "The Itsy Bitsy Spider," "Row Row Row Your Boat," "Rubber Ducky," "Jesus Loves Me," "C is for Cookie," "If You're Happy and You Know It," and a few others.  In the video you might not be able to understand all of the song, but I missed the part you could understand!

Happy 2nd Birthday Becca!

Wow 2 years have gone by fast! I can't believe Becca turned 2 this past week.  I didn't realize how much she has changed and learned over the past year until Joe and I were looking at pictures and videos from the past year.  Even from the summer she has grown so quickly and her vocabulary has just taken off!
We had a fun birthday party with family and friends.  Becca loved her cake, which was made by our neighbor Steve, and she loved all of the attention from everyone.  However most of the time she was more interested in the balloons than anything else.  We tried to blow out the candles, and she blew, but they were a little tough to blow out!  She didn't eat any cake....of course this wasn't really a surprise to me since she won't eat any sweets anyway!
Joe and I feel truly blessed to have this little girl in our lives.  She is such a gift from the Lord.  Her personality is really shining through.  She is a loving, happy little girl that likes to talk a lot and laugh a lot!

Becca had her 2 year check-up with the doctor and weighed 23 pounds 10 ounces and was 33 inches long.  The doctor is worried about her weight because she is in the 5th percentile, but I think she will be fine.  I think she just has her dad's metabolism!  I have to bring her back in 6 months to see if her weight has gone up any.  The good news is that there are no more shots until she is 5!!! Yea!!

Here are some fun pics from her birthday!! Thanks to everyone that helped us celebrate.  We are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends.

Just so you can see how much she has changed...this first picture is Becca from a year ago!

Merry Christmas!!

Becca and Daddy Christmas Eve

Not wanting to go to bed on Christmas Eve

Wow! Look at my new kitchen!!
Becca had a great Christmas and was much more into opening presents this year.  She also learned more about celebrating Jesus's Birthday and enjoyed playing with her nativity scene.  Joe and I stayed up Christmas Eve till 2:30am putting together her kitchen set.  It only took 4 hours!  She loved it though. I think she would have been just as content though with books.  She kept opening the books and wanted to stop and read them.  Maybe tomorrow I will post that video.  It is pretty entertaining.  She had a great time visiting family...even though she was a little shy with everyone at first.  Here are some fun pictures of Christmas!  As Becca would say "arry istmas" (She tries!)

Becca's cute dress that she wore on Christmas Eve! I forgot to put the Santa hat with it though!

Ready to go outside and play in the snow!

Yea! We like the snow this year.  She enjoyed marching up and down the driveway and through the yard.  We even tried to make a few snow angels!

Future Color Guard Member?

Becca went with me to Winter guard practice last week and loved the bright colors of the flags.  She of course liked all of the attention from the kids as well.  I was amazed that she could pick up a flag and spin it all the way around.  She enjoyed naming all of the colors and wanted to participate in their show, but I was a little afraid that she would get in their way and possibly get hit with a sabre or rifle!
