Fun at Columbia Park

We are so loving the summer! I love being able to stay home and spend time with the girls.  We had a great time in Lafayette at Columbia Park.  They have great play areas for all ages of kids.  Emily loved the swings and animals.  She is definitely not a stroller lover.  She also hates her carseat.  She wants to walk everywhere we go.  She also thinks she is big enough to sit in Becca's side of the stroller.  We rode the train and Becca was big enough this year to ride the helicopters, boats, and horses.  She had a blast.
Switching spots in the stroller.

Becca posed for this picture.  She said, "Come on daddy, get close to me, Cheese!"

Emily not sure about the water.

Becca's first time bowling

Last Monday we took Becca bowling for the first time.  We told her that when she woke up from her nap we would have a surprise for her.  She woke up and immediately asked about the surprise.  We told her that we were taking her bowling.  She got so excited (even though I'm quite sure she didn't really understand what bowling is).  She kept saying she was going to kick the bowling ball.  Ouch! :)

It was so cute to see her in the little bowling shoes.  They had a special 6lb. ball for little kids.  I was so proud of her.  She could lift the ball up and then Joe helped her put it on the special ramp.  She then pushed it down the ramp.  She was so excited when it hit the pins.  She even beat me with bumpers in! Shows that I need some more practice! Becca did a great job taking turns and Emily was our little cheerleader on the sideline.  She would clap for Becca. It was so cute!

She said "I love bowling."

Emily loves her babydoll

Now that Emily is hopefully starting to feel better she has been back to herself.  She is funny, loving, and a stinker as well.  She loves imitating Becca and doing everything with her.  She runs after her saying "Be bah." She loves being near her.  Becca, however, does not always enjoy her sister's adoring affection.  It has been a struggle to explain to Becca that she does need to share toys and that everything is not hers.  Emily can also be a stinker and pull Becca's hair when she doesn't get what she wants as well.  We do have lots of good laughs and I love when they make each other laugh.  Joe and I love Emmy's toothy goofy grin.

One of her favorite toys besides a bouncy ball is her babydoll.  She loves to feed it and put it in the bed under the covers.  She gives it hugs and kisses as well.  So cute...

This is the Day...

I love how excited Becca is in the morning.  She wakes up so happy and excited for the new day to begin.  She comes in and says, "Good morning mommy.  I sleep ok."  I've been thinking about this a lot lately because I'm not always so excited to wake-up early or for the day to begin.  Becca wakes up singing and talking non-stop.  I think the Lord smiles at that.  The thought that keeps popping in my head is "This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it." What if we all greeted the day this way no matter what our circumstances?
